Local leaders have expressed their excitement about The Global Leadership Summit. Some of their comments include:
The Rev. Jon Ashley, senior pastor of The Presbyterian Church of Fremont:
“I was able to attend the Global Leadership Summit in Houston a few years ago and remember feeling inspired, equipped, and empowered to partner with others in bringing about positive change in our community.
“The Global Leadership Summit not only helped me learn more about myself, I also gained leadership skills and insight, and caught a vision for collaboration and community development.
“When we heard The Global Leadership Summit was coming to Fremont, it was an easy “Yes” to jump onboard, and we encourage you to join us. The Presbyterian Church of Fremont is excited to partner with other leaders and organizations as we seek to strengthen our community.”
Shawn Shanahan, executive director of the Fremont Area United Way:
“We were honored to be asked to be a community partner to help gather awareness, interest and support for our community to come together to learn more about leadership, influence and action.
“We love the great networking and opportunity for our nonprofit partners to be able to attend at a discount and be engaged in a two-day training with community leaders.
“We are also in the planning stage of how the 10 United Way partners can generate volunteers out of the training and together we can all benefit and move to engagement. United Way is launching Volunteer Connection, a way for any community member to become connected and engaged in the needs and to give of their time and expertise.”
