LINCOLN – Five Cass County students will display their vocal talents with the Nebraska All-State Chorus in Lincoln next month.
Students from Elmwood-Murdock and Plattsmouth learned this week that they had been selected to participate in the prestigious group. Nebraska Music Education Association officials picked the students for the ensemble after listening to their auditions earlier this fall.
Elmwood-Murdock students Tess Arent, Noah Arent and August Pope will all sing in the choir. Tess Arent will perform in the Soprano I section. Noah Arent and Pope will both be members of the Tenor II section.
Plattsmouth students Grace Roby and Tim Schreiber will both participate in All-State festivities. Roby will be a member of the Alto II section and Schreiber will sing in the Bass I section.
Nebraska All-State Chorus members will hold their first practice on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 16. They will take part in additional practices Nov. 17 and will perform a public concert on Saturday, Nov. 18. The 4:30 p.m. concert will take place at the Lied Center for Performing Arts on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus.
