Cass County Historical Society will hold its annual Hot Dog Roast at Rock Bluffs School 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15. Hot dogs, chips, cookies and water or lemonade will be served. The event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to help with building maintenance.
The one-room brick school house was constructed in 1870 and was originally called “Naomi Institute.” The institute closed in 1872, but re-opened as a public school named “Rock Bluffs”. Classes continued to be held until 1969. The building was donated to Cass County Historical Society and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
