With a name like Rhett Grancer, you can’t help but be charming.
Despite being named after the fictional Scarlett O’Hara’s true love, Grancer is a Nebraskan through and through and is now the representative for Cornerstone Insurance Group at the Cornerstone Bank in Murray.
“I was born and raised in Beaver Lake,” Grancer said.
Grancer graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 2007 and worked as a landscaper for a few years. His next career move was serving as a Title Insurance Agent with Farmer’s Insurance for four years in the Papillion-Shadow Lake area.
On Oct. 16, he became the representative for Cornerstone Insurance Group. “I came directly from Farmer’s Insurance to here,” he said.
Cornerstone Insurance Group is an independent insurance carrier. “We have connections with 15-plus carriers offering commercial, personal, farm, ranch and crop insurance,” he said.
As an agent for Cornerstone Insurance Group, he will be primarily focusing on farm and crop insurance.
“No matter what the risk we have an outlet for it,” he said. “We have lots of resources and can tailor insurance to their needs. Our rates are extremely competitive.”
Grancer said he is especially glad to be back to his former stomping grounds where he has many relatives, including his parents, Chuck and Julie (Williams) Grancer, who live in Copper Dollar Cove.
“My uncles, sister, grandparents and other relatives all live within a 10-mile radius of Plattsmouth,” he said.
Although Grancer said he longed to live in a city following high school graduation, at age 29, he’s changed his mind about residence in a bustling metro area. “The older you get, you realize family is the people who will be around for you through thick and thin,” he said.
Grancer said he also knows many people in Cass County. “I’m very familiar with the area and the people who bank in the area,” he said. When he’s not working, Grancer said he loves being in the outdoors or spending time with family and friends. “I also enjoy riding my bike. I used to ride the Keystone Trail about 100 miles a week,” he said.
Grancer’s office is at 102 West M St., Murray. His office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. “My hours are flexible. I have lots of out-of-office appointments and can schedule time to meet my clients at their convenience,” he said.
