Sunny skies and warm fall temperatures blessed St. John the Baptist School Fall Festival Oct. 8, at the school in Plattsmouth.
The school auditorium was filled with people enjoying their choice of a roast beef or pork dinner with all the fixings including mashed potatoes, dumplings, sauerkraut, vegetables and homemade desserts.
Outside children enjoyed family games such as Plinko, Pop Bottle Ring Toss, Go Fishing and the newly introduced, Apple Launch.
Children and adults enjoyed painting pumpkins and taking them home.
Because the fall festival is a celebration of Catholic education and a fund-raiser for the school, people bid on auction baskets. This year the auction included a raffle for a large, flat-screen television, chainsaw and $300 in script cards.
Chances on a beautiful handmade quilt were also available.
“The festival is a great time for our church community and surrounding neighbors to get together and have family fun,” Skiewicz said.
