NEBRASKA CITY – Carson Blecke turned Thursday’s warm temperatures into a sizzling round at the Nebraska City Invite.
The Plattsmouth senior finished second in the tournament with an 18-hole total of 78. Blecke posted a 40 on the front nine at Wildwood Golf Course and a 38 on the back nine.
Plattsmouth tied for ninth place with Auburn in team standings at the tournament. The Blue Devils and Bulldogs both registered scores of 400. Platteview (332) and Johnson County Central (347) finished first and second.
Kaleb Church (104), Ryan Oatman (104), Garrett Quinn (114) and Brandon Matteo (126) added scores for Plattsmouth. The Blue Devils played on one of the top weather days of the spring. Temperatures in Nebraska City climbed into the upper 70s during the afternoon.
Plattsmouth is scheduled to resume its season Tuesday at the Blair Invite. Action is slated to begin at 9 a.m. at River Wilds Golf Club.
