MILLARD – Runners from three Cass County schools traveled the trails of Walnut Grove Park on Monday during action at the Yutan Invite.

Athletes from Elmwood-Murdock, Louisville and Weeping Water traveled to Millard for the cross country meet. They competed against students from schools across eastern Nebraska.

Louisville’s Maddy Sladky captured a medal in the girls race with an eighth-place time of 22:58.41. She generated her second medal in less than a week. She also earned individual honors at the Milford Invite Sept. 7.

The LHS girls captured sixth place with 99 points. Amyra Moxey, Kerigan Juracek and Sophie Habrock joined Sladky in the race.

Weeping Water’s Noah May hauled in an 11th-place medal in the boys event. He crossed the finish line in 18:37.14. He helped the WWHS boys finish fifth in team standings with 108 points. The Louisville boys finished sixth with 118 points. The Elmwood-Murdock boys did not have enough runners to qualify for team standings.

The Fort Calhoun girls and Malcolm boys each generated team titles. The Pioneers had four medal winners during the day. All six Malcolm boys finished in the top 12 places of their race.
