COLUMBUS – Emma Wagner collected state golf memories this week when she carded rounds alongside dozens of Nebraska students.

Wagner competed in the Class B State Tournament at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus Monday and Tuesday. The Plattsmouth junior improved her scores over the two-day event. She posted an 18-hole total of 114 on the first day and fired a 109 in her second round.

Wagner made a par on her first state hole and ended Monday’s round with nine-hole marks of 53 and 61. She compiled scores of 55 and 54 during action Tuesday. She collected 54th place in the tournament.

Scottsbluff senior Shelby Poynter earned the state title with a two-day total of 155. She edged Aurora sophomore Danica Badura by three strokes for the Class B championship.
