Lambda Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority for women educators held their December meeting at the home of Cathy Ross on Jan 8. Co-president Cindy Tranmer called the business meeting to order.
The guest speaker for the meeting was Sean Tyler. Tyler is the pastor of Bluffs Trinity Lutheran Church and Peace Lutheran Church. He gave a presentation on the Royal Family Kids Camp that he and his wife direct.
Royal Family Kids is a national Christian organization that works with children in foster homes. The camp that he is involved with serves children in Dodge County and the surrounding area. The camp lasts for one week and is usually held in July.
Lambda Chapter is planning an altruistic project for the local Royal Family Kids Camp. Members asked Tyler for suggestions of things that the chapter could do for the camp. After his presentation, members discussed possible ideas for the altruistic project.
Other topics of discussion in the meeting included ideas for a raffle basket for the Alpha Delta Kappa State Conference that will be held in April. Co-president Nancy Morris also mentioned that the state board for Alpha Delta Kappa would like members around the state to vote for one of three possible altruistic projects to be carried out at the state level. Lambda chapter members can make additional suggestions at the state conference for projects as well.
