It will be a musical venture.

This weekend, the Pathfinder Barbershop Chorus heads to international competition in Kansas City, Mo.

More than 90 members of the Fremont-based chorus will perform Friday at the International Barbershop Harmony Society competition.

"A total of the 28 best choruses in the world will compete in this event," said P.D. Stibor, chorus director.

The Pathfinder Chorus qualified by being the Central States District Champions, winning the competition over a five-state region.

During the international competition, the group will sing - and be judged - on two songs: "Young and Foolish" and "Cross the Mason Dixon Line."

Throughout the years, men involved in the chorus said they have enjoyed the fun and camaraderie that barbershop harmony provides.

The group also has staged performances benefiting the community.
