A Fremont woman was cited and released Sunday after being caught shoplifting, Fremont Police said.
Officers responded at 1:30 p.m. to a business located in the 3000 block of East 23rd Avenue North in regard to a shoplifting complaint.
An investigation determined that 34-year-old Elizabeth D. Lewis attempted to leave the business with merchandise that she had not paid for.
The unpaid merchandise cost approximately $50. Lewis was cited and charged with theft by shoplifting.
