A Des Moines man was arrested after allegedly behaving belligerently, shortly after being found passed out in his vehicle at 1 a.m. on Friday.
Ryan M. German, 27, was allegedly found passed out in his vehicle on south Clarkson Street following a one-car property damage accident, police said.
Officers noticed that German seemed impaired, but German refused to submit to a breath test and was transported to the Fremont Health Medical Center. There, he allegedly became belligerent, using profanity toward medical personnel and ignoring officers’ requests for him to stop.
He then allegedly refused to submit to a chemical test.
German also allegedly didn’t inform officers that he possessed a license to carry a concealed weapon as required, and officers found a firearm laying under the driver’s seat.
German faces a slew of charges, including disturbing the peace, failing to inform an officer of a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct, driving under the influence of drugs, refusal to submit to a chemical test, refusal to submit to a breath test, carrying a concealed weapon in a prohibited area and no operator’s license.
