Officers arrested 25-year-old Kevin L. Westerman after he allegedly drove under the influence following an altercation, the Fremont Police Department said.
The officers were responding at about 8:50 p.m. Thursday to the 1000 block of east Eighth Street to reports of a disturbance involving Westerman, but when they arrived at the scene, Westerman was not there, and several witnesses claimed that he had driven away, the Police Department said.
While officers spoke with others at the scene, Westerman returned to the scene and spoke with officers, at which point, officers noted the smell of alcohol. Westerman allegedly admitted to consuming alcohol, and following a DUI investigation, he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, the department said.
