People encompassing the greater Fremont Area will have the opportunity Oct. 19 to put their palates to work during a beer tasting party being held at Eagles FOE #200.

Shirley Brester, manager of the Eagles Club, said through a released statement that she is always looking for new and exciting ways to bring members and guests into the facility, 649 N. Main St.

At 5:30 p.m, Ryan Penke of Premier Midwest Beverage Company will be on hand with numerous different beverages, giving samples of each craft beer while also providing those in attendance with a brief history of the particular beer they are sampling.

Brester said that tickets are being sold for $5 both in advance and at the door the day of the event. In addition, those in attendance will have the opportunity to purchase food, released information says.

Some of the craft beers available for sampling include: Founders Day IPA, Wasatch Apricot Hefeweizen, Keg Creek Brick Red Ale, Rahr Ugly Pug and North Coast Scrimshaw.

Following the quick history lesson, each event attendee will receive a 3 oz. glass of the described beverage, Brester said during a Thursday interview with the Tribune. For herself personally, Brester said the tasting even should provide insight into some new beers that she may want to offer at the club. And she, and others in attendance, don’t have to go to the store to buy a six-pack to make that happen.

“Personally, and with the Eagles Club, I don’t want to bring in something that people won’t drink so I always want to try it,” she said. “And if I have to go to the liquor store I have to go and buy a six-pack and I don’t always want to do that. So our trustees gave us permission so we are excited to go ahead with it.”

Food items being sold a la carte include: $3 hamburgers, $3.50 cheeseburgers, $2.50 French Fries, $3 onion rings, $2 lettuce salad and $2 bowls of chili. For $4.50, people can receive both chili and a hamburger.

For more information about the upcoming beer tasting party, people are encouraged to contact the Eagles Club at 402-721-0829.
