Opening of “Mamma Mia!,” 7:30 p.m., Omaha Community Playhouse. The hit musical features the songs of ABBA and is one of the top 10 longest-running Broadway musicals. The opening night celebration for ticketholders will be themed like a wedding reception featuring wedding cake, music and a pre-show bouquet toss. The production will continue through Oct. 15. 34th Annual Heritage Needlework Guild Quilt & Needlework Show, 5-8 p.m., lower level of Bethel United Church of Christ, Nebraska City. The show, which will feature nearly 200 items on display, will be held in conjunction with the 2017 Applejack Festival in Nebraska City.

Trivia Night, 6 p.m., Polymath Café, downtown Fremont. The event is being sponsored by Keene Memorial Library. Attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite book character and compete for prizes with their friends. The trivia will be over a wide variety of topics so there is something for everyone.

Warrior football tailgate, 11 a.m., Heedum Field, Fremont. All fans are invited to this event sponsored by First State Bank. Family friendly activities will begin at noon with face painting, inflatables and other activities for younger Warrior fans inside the stadium.

Guided nature hike, 1 p.m., Boyer Chute National Wildlife Refuge, near Fort Calhoun. During the hike, participants will learn about the late summer blooming plants found on the refuge as well as the monarch butterfly as it begins its migration south. Reservations are encouraged but not required.

Knights of Columbus Council 10412 pancake, biscuits and gravy feed, 8:30 a.m. to noon, St. Francis Borgia Church, 2005 Davis Drive, Blair. This event will gather freewill donations to benefit the community, youth and parishioners.

Nebraska Reptile Breeders Expo, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Scott Conference Center, Omaha. Nebraska’s largest captive born-only reptile show will feature 55 tables of vendors with 1000s of snakes, lizards, turtles and amphibians, books, supplies, reptile-related crafts and more. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

Annual BBQ and Quilt Auction Fundraiser, Camp Fontanelle. Worship will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Chad Anglemyer preaching. Food will be served from noon to 3 p.m. and the corn maze will open for the season at 1 p.m. The silent auction will start at noon and the quilt auction will be at 2 p.m. Live entertainment throughout the day will include puppets, music and more.

Divine Mercy Parish’s Annual Roast Pork & Polish Sausage Dinner & Bazaar, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., St. Mary’s Social Center, 320 W. 10th St., Schuyler. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children aged 6-11 and free for children 5 and under. Other activities include a raffle, silent auction, cakewalk, a country store, games and a hot dog stand. There also will be a polka Mass with Lonnie Piitz at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church.

Sunday with a Scientist, 1:30-4:30 p.m., Morrill Hall, Lincoln. Visitors will learn about plant roots, soil and microbes in agriculture. Regular museum admission applies.
