June 18, 1924 – March 5, 2018
Francis ‘Cisco’ L. Jensen, age 83, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018, at Fremont Health.
Fran was born in Fremont on June 18, 1924, to Axel and Pearl Jensen. He was a self-employed carpenter working on many homes in and around Fremont, including the Fremont Mall and the Crossroads Mall in Omaha.
Fran lived in Nebraska, Minnesota and Florida. Before moving to Port Charlotte, Florida, Fran was a charter member of the Inglewood Fire Department and the Fremont Airboat Club. After spending 15 years in Florida building houses, he returned to Fremont and was a proud member of the Democrat Delegates for Dodge County.
Prior to living in Valley, Fran and Donna lived on the Platte River near Fremont. He loved hunting and fishing and held the record for the largest catfish ever caught in the Platte River for many years. He especially loved spending time in his home on the Platte River during the summer. He was a nature lover and could identify the birds by listening to their songs. He watched the eagles nesting nearby, the deer wandering through the yard and the Canadian geese with their young along the river banks. Fran was a very soft spoken man who led by character instead of volume.
