FREMONT -- Kenneth W. Loeffler, 81 years, of Fremont died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, at Nye Legacy in Fremont. Kenneth was born Jan. 28, 1936, in Burwell to Fred and Harriet (Franks) Loeffler.
At a young age came to Fremont and graduated from St. Pat’s High School. He served in the U.S. Army from May 22, 1958, to April 27, 1961. After being discharged from the military he returned to Fremont. Kenneth married Joan Ladenburger on July 24, 1962, in Fremont. He worked at ADM in Fremont and retired on Jan. 28, 1998.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, FOE 200 Eagles of Fremont, and Fremont Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad. He loved fishing, hunting, the river and having his hog roasts.
Survived by wife, Joan; daughter, Terri Chaney, both of Fremont; son, Michael (Christine) Loeffler, North Bend; sisters, Dorthea Saeger Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Loraine (Harold) Ebert of Ashland and Patty (Jerry) Herold of Omaha; grandchildren, Tony Chaney and Dylan Chaney.
He was preceded in death by parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard (Jane) Loeffler and Donald (Phyllis) Loeffler; and nephew, David Loeffler.
The funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will be Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. and a Rosary service at 7 p.m., all at Moser Memorial Chapel. Burial with Military Honors at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
