Robert Jay Allgood, 67, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013, at his residence in Fremont.

Bob was born March 3, 1946, to Guy and Marie Allgood and grew up in the Fremont area. He joined the U.S. Navy in December 1965 where he served in the Vietnam War. After the completion of his service, he returned to the Fremont area and worked for Saeger & Company for 30 years until his retirement. Bob and Peggy (Lyman) were married Sept. 21, 1991, at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. After he retired, he volunteered at the Fremont State Lakes where he “gatored” around maintaining the grounds.

Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed walking and riding with his beloved dog Bailey.

Survivors include: his wife, Peggy of Fremont; daughter, Annette (Brian) Wanamaker of Omaha; son, Doug (Angie) Allgood of Fremont; stepchildren, Jay (Tracy) Jasinski of La Vista, Jon (Tara) Jasinski of Gillette, Wyo., and Jen (Mike) Vogt of Fremont; grandchildren, Cole Miller of Omaha, Brandon, Jared and Taryn Jasinski of La Vista, Samantha and Harlie Allgood of Fremont and Zack Vogt of Fremont; sisters, Beverly (Duane) Carpenter of Lincoln, Mildred (John) Perry of Moore, Okla., Donna (Claude) Vickers of Wilkesboro, N.C., Sandra (Leo) Leeper of Fremont, Linda (Harvey) Bergman of Fremont, Carney Tracy of Fremont and Diana Carnahan of Snyder; mother-in-law, Mary Birkman of Lincoln; brother-in-law, David and Beverly Lyman of Omaha; sister-in-law, Chris (Sharon) Lyman of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Linda and Mark Svoboda of Loveland, Colo.; and beloved pet, Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Cora Marie Allgood; and sister, Norma Rivers.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont with the Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
