FREMONT — Ruth E. Radtke, 84 years, of Fremont died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at the Fremont Health Medical Center. Ruth was born April 18, 1933, on a farm north of Pierce to Nick and Catherine (Korth) Windeshausen.
Ruth grew up in Osmond and was a 1952 graduate of Osmond High School. She moved to Norfolk in 1953 and was employed at Our Lady of Lords Hospital. She came to Fremont in 1957 and then moved to a farm near Pender in 1960, returning to Fremont in 1968. Ruth worked for the Fremont Public Schools as custodian for over 20 years, retiring in 1998. She then worked at the former Holiday Lodge in Fremont.
Ruth married Wayne W. Radtke on Nov. 24, 1956, at Norfolk. He died Sept. 23, 2003.
Ruth was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont.
She is survived by son, John (Renee) Radtke of Fremont; daughter, Jody (Todd) Vie of Lone Jack, Missouri; brothers, Dr. H. N. Windeshausen of California and Jim (Carolyn) Windeshausen of Fremont; sisters, Theresa Rice and Vivian Manzer, both of Osmond, Marge (Ron) Greiss of Lincoln and Kitty Kear of York; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Tom Radtke; daughter, Connie Fox; sisters, Marie Morfeld and Deloris Wittsche; brothers, Gene and Norman Windeshausen; and grandson, Todd Vie.
The memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. The Rev. Walter Nolte will officiate. Memorial Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to the family.
