Fremont Rural Fire Department, as well as the Fremont Fire Department, responded Sunday evening to the scene of a fire occurring at a local business.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., Fremont Rural responded to the Purina Animal Nutrition Plant, 330 E. Cloverly Road, in regard to a small fire. At 8:56 p.m., Fremont Fire Department also responded to the scene.
“Fremont Rural responded to the fire, then they asked us to bring the aerial and squad, along with man power,” said Cpt. Jamie Meyer of the Fremont Fire Department.
The fire ultimately proved to be small and was handled internally, Land O’Lakes communications manager Brooke Dillon said through a released statement.
“A small fire began in a machine motor at our Fremont Purina Animal Nutrition Plant on Sunday, Nov. 5,” Dillon said. “The fire was quickly put out by plant employees before the fire department arrived.”
Minimal damage was reported, Dillon added.
