Secretary of State John Gale's office announced Tuesday it has removed the name of Mark Elworth Jr. of Omaha from the May primary election as a Libertarian Party candidate for the U.S. Senate.

Elworth's departure leaves the names of five Republicans, four Democrats and one Libertarian candidate on the May 15 ballot.
