AMES, Iowa – Midland University closed the men’s hockey season by splitting a pair of games recently with Iowa State.
The Warriors fell 4-2 to the Cyclones on Friday in Fremont before beating Iowa State 3-2 on Saturday in Ames, Iowa.
On Friday, the game was tied at 2 entering the final period. The Cyclones took the lead midway through the period and added an empty-net goal late to seal the win.
Cy Jenson and Kevin Finley each scored and picked up an assist for the Warriors. Colton Jones also finished with an assist.
MU rallied from a 2-1 deficit to win in Ames. Jake Mullendore and Blake Neuman score the first two goals for Midland. Neumann assisted on Mullendore’s goal while Brad Hepler and Tyler Gallagher assisted on Neumann’s.
Ryan Coneybear scored the game-winner in the final period off of assists by Mullendore and Neumann.
Midland’s season comes to an end with an 18-17-1 record.
