SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Midland University's second-half rally against Morningside came up short on Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors, who trailed by nine at halftime, cut the deficit to 69-68 on a Chase Parsons 3-point basket with 7:10 left, but the Mustangs successfully protected the lead.
Ryan Williams led Midland with 24 points and eight rebounds. Parsons added 15 points while Darrin Clark and Isaiah Workman contributed 12 each. TK Dixson had 11 points, six rebounds and two assists.
Tyler Borchers led Morningside, 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference, with 23 points.
Midland, 7-4 overall and 1-3 in the GPAC, will host Briar Cliff on Wednesday night.
