WEEPING WATER -- Cedar Bluffs picked up its first win of the season on Friday in the opening-round of the Weeping Water Holiday Tournament.
Junior Mason Thiesen scored 18 points as the Wildcats beat Dorechester 33-32. Hunter Bacon added nine points and seven rebounds while Carson Shanahan grabbed a team-best 11 rebounds with two points.
The Wildcats lost the championship game 39-18 to Lewiston on Saturday.
"The guys played a strong first quarter," Cedar Bluffs coach Taylor Wentz said. "As the game went on, we lost our discipline on defense allowing them to get some easy baskets as well as us just not being able to hit our open shots."
Treyton Hippen led Lewiston with 13 points. Thiesen had eight points and four steals for the Wildcats, 1-8. Bacon had three points while Chris Vasquez, Shanahan and Lane Siems had two each. Bacon and Siems also had six rebounds each.
