The Fremont High volleyball team won two games to open the Omaha Bryan Tournament Friday.
The Tigers defeated Omaha Northwest 25-15, 25-11 and then downed Omaha Benson 25-20, 25-20.
"We started strong against Northwest and controlled the game the whole way," FHS coach Cindy Kostek said. "Then we started slow against Benson in both sets and came back in both so it was good for the girls to know that they are able to do that."
Elizabeth Greunke led the attack against ONW with five kills while Lexi Proskovec added four. The duo each ended with four ace serves in the win.
Taylor Pemberton led with nine set assists while Hannah Wilson added six. Rylee Williams tallied five digs.
Against Benson, Riley Hoerath and Greunke ended with six kills apiece. Williams had 12 digs while Wilson ended with nine set assists and Pemberton had eight.
The Tigers return to action Saturday when they take on Omaha South at 9 a.m. and follow with Lincoln High before beginning tournament play.
