Howells-Dodge rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit to down Johnson-Brock 54-42 on Tuesday night in the Class D-1 state football playoffs.

The Jaguars trailed 28-18 at halftime, but Dylan Horejsi's 3-yard touchdown run and two-point conversion cut the deficit to two. Dax VanLengen then threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Jon Yosten to put H-D ahead for good.

The Jaguars stretched the lead early in the fourth quarter. VanLengen had a 1-yard TD run and also threw a 19-yard scoring pass to Jordon Brichacek. Later in the period, VanLengen had a 2-yard touchdown run.

Horejsi rushed for 231 yards on 39 carries. VanLengen was 8 of 10 passing for 128 yards and two scores. He also rushed six times for 38 yards and two touchdowns.

Kade Hegemann led the defense with 16 tackles. Yosten added 11.

The Jaguars will face East Butler on Monday in the semifinals.
