LINCOLN — Fremont High School gained some revenge against Lincoln Northeast on Thursday night in boys soccer.
The Tigers, who lost 6-0 to the Rockets last week in the Heartland Athletic Conference Tournament, blanked Northeast 3-0 at Seacrest Field.
The win improves the Tigers to 3-8 while Northeast falls to 1-8.
“We played really well,” Fremont coach Sean Murphy said. “It was probably the best 80 minutes of soccer we’ve played all season.”
David Estrada scored in the 35th minute off a Jace Lamkins assist. Avimael Salas scored off a Carlos Ahumada assist in the first minute of the second half to make it 2-0. Estrada added the final goal in the 75th minute off a Ever Paz assist.
“Our pressure on them was incredible,” Murphy said. “We forced them into mistakes. The kids gave a great effort tonight.”
Omar Garibo had two saves for the Tigers.
The Fremont High School girls suffered a 9-0 loss to Northeast on Thursday to fall to 5-7 on the season.
Both Fremont squads will play April 19 at Lincoln Southeast.
