Mike Krumland of Columbus won the fourth Nebraska Senior Match Play title of his career Wednesday at the Fremont Golf Club.
Krumland beat Skip Gist of Omaha 3 and 2 for the championship in the seventh year of the event.
Krumland advanced to the final by defeating Steven Ritzman of Elkhorn in 19 holes. Krumland had a 3-up lead at one point before Ritzman battled back.
In the other semifinal, Gist edged Fremont John Sajevic in a match that went 20 holes.
Gist took a 1-up lead with a long birdie putt on No. 17, but Sajevic answered by draining a birdie on No. 18 to square the match. Sajevic nearly won the match on No. 10, but his birdie putt lipped out.
In the President’s Flight bracket, Charles Wurtz of Waterloo downed Tony Richie of Lincoln 2 and 1 in the final. In the Sam Reynolds’ Flight bracket, Robert Tatten of Omaha beat Elkhorn’s Roger Miller 3 and 2 for the championship.
In the Bob Astleford Net Flight, Jeff McPherson of Omaha chipped in on No. 17 to pick up a 2 and 1 victory over Sam Kumar of Omaha for the championship.
