The Pruss Excavation / Pinnacle Construction Fremont Express 14U baseball team picked up two wins against Omaha Gross last weekend.
Playing with eight players in both games due to holiday schedules, the Express prevailed 13-7 and 8-4.
In the opener, Nate Wheeler got the win. He allowed two runs on five hits while striking out four in three innings. Ashton Swinscoe also pitched and added two hits. Caleb Herink contributed four hits while Derek Krous had three.
Corey Rademacher and Andrew Tulles led the defense.
Zach Beam got the win in the second game. He allowed no runs and no hits in three innings while striking out six. Herink and Tyler Allen pitched in relief with the latter also hitting a double.
Krous had two doubles while Beam drove in the winning run. Rademacher and Herink also had hits for the Express. Tulles and Wheeler anchored the defense.
The Express stole 26 bases over the weekend, led by Krous' eight. Herink had six and Tulles four.
Tom Herink, Larry Allen and Jon Tulles serve as coaches for the Express.
