Village of Nehawka MINUTESApril 2019Chairman Gansemer called the regular meeting of the Village of Nehawka Board of Trustees to Order at 7:05 p.m. In attendance were Shane Adams, Michael McIntire, Bob Sorenson, Jen Gansemer, Ann Fisher, June Bennett and Tom Prickett. John Henderson entered the meeting at 7:36 p.m.Motion was made by Adams, seconded by McIntire to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. With McIntire, Adams, Sorenson and Gansemer voting yes, motion carried. A motion was made by Adams, seconded by Sorenson to approve the treasurers report. With McIntire, Adams, Sorenson and Gansemer voting yes, motion carried. Motion was made by Sorenson, seconded by McIntire to approve payment of claims as submitted. With McIntire, Adams, Sorenson and Gansemer voting yes, motion carried. Jim was not present at the meeting to give report but sent an update to clerk which was read.Ann reported nothing new for the ambulance, but that she had ordered some new supplies as some were outdated. Pot holes around town were discussed. It was noted that bids should be taken regarding the tear out an replacement of the area from the flagpole to the railroad tracks.Motion was made by Adams seconded by Sorenson for the village to pay 1/3 of the fireschool training. With McIntire, Adams, Sorenson, Henderson, and Gansemer voting yes. Motion carried. Motion was made by Adams, seconded by Sorenson to disconnect those that have past due utilities. With McIntire, Adams, Henderson, Sorenson and Gansemer voting yes. Motion carried.It was discussed that the curb stops within the village need to be found soon in order to proceed with repairs and replacement. Bob and Shane are going to get together to look for some over the weekend. Henderson asked if the generator at the sewer plant had had the belts replaced, radiator flushed, had I been serviced, is it being started weekly and running. The bond was discussed - it expires in 2020 - discussion was held on to amend the financing, extend or to wrap into a long term bond. Clerk will contact bank to discuss. June Bennett asked about publication of meeting minutes and regarding the streets. Motion was made by Adams seconded by Henderson to adjourn at 8:15 p.m. Motion carried.
