Although the calendar may say April, it doesn’t feel like springtime in Fremont quite yet.
But as the temperatures start to rise and the sun finally comes out of hiding over the next few months, local residents will have a new spot to stop in and cool off with a freshly blended fruit smoothie.
Local residents Scott and Christina Meyer are currently in the process of remodeling a space at 1542 N Bell Street that, when finished, will be home to Fremont’s very own Juice Stop franchise.
According to Christina Meyer, following the completion of renovations the goal is to open the new Juice Stop sometime in May.
“We are in the thick of the remodel right now, and the inside is moving along nicely,” she said. “We still have to cross some T’s and dot some I’s, but the goal is to open in early May.”
Currently the Meyer’s are remodeling the inside of their new business space with help from area contractors Platte Mechanical Inc., NE Construction, and Fremont Electric.
Juice Stop is popular for its freshly blended fruit smoothies that feature a variety of fruits as well as nutrient blends and add-ins that include vitamins, minerals, protein, antioxidants and caffeine.
“The smoothies are fun and delicious, but they are also healthy,” Christina Meyer said. “So it’s just a place to get a fun and healthy beverage.”
Juice Stop uses sports terminology for all of its smoothies, including names like Slam Dunk, Strike 3, Touchdown, Power Play, Double Axel and many more.
For example, the Slam Dunk smoothie includes orange, pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, and pineapple sherbet. The Power Play smoothie features watermelon, raspberries, strawberries, vanilla non-fat yogurt, and raspberry sherbet.
In total, customers can choose from 11 different fruits when deciding what they want in their smoothie. Those fruits including blueberries, pineapple, papaya, cranberries, peaches, raspberries, mangoes, watermelon, strawberries, bananas, and oranges.

Along with plenty of fresh fruit in every smoothie, customers also have the option to add several different nutrient blends or add-ins.
Those include a Daily Blend, which includes 5mgs of 51 vitamins, minerals and amino acids according to information on Juice Stop’s website.
There is also an Energy Blend that includes gingko, ginseng, gotu kola, sima, citrus, aurantium and kola nut and a Vitality Blend that includes selenium, vitamin C, bioflavan, grape seed and bilberry extracts.
“We will also have wheatgrass, you can put protein powder in your smoothie,” Meyer said. “You can even add-in an entire can of Red Bull if you need a jolt.”
According to Meyer, she and her husband Scott began the process of opening their new franchise in February and although it is a franchise it is still a family business for pair.
“The people who own the Omaha based stores are family, so it really is a family business type venture for us,” she said.
Scott’s brother Travis and his wife Malia are the owners and operators of the chain’s Omaha based stores which includes four locations throughout the metro area.
Juice Stop has locations in Omaha in Lakeside Plaza at about 168th Street and West Center Road, in Aksarben Village near 72nd Street and Center Street, at Eagle Run near 132nd Street and West Maple Road, and in the Old Market at 12th and Howard Streets.
The new Juice Stop in Fremont will be located near the corner of 16th Street and Bell Street in the building that used to house Pro Nail Salon across from Marcos Pizza.
“We want to blend in with the community,” Meyer said. “We are excited to open this in Fremont and just have this be part of the community.”
