Elmwood-Murdock Louisville Conestoga

CRETE – Local students squared off with speech opponents from across the state Saturday at the Crete Cardinal Classic.

Teenagers from Conestoga, Elmwood-Murdock and Louisville represented their school districts at the daylong speech invite. Twenty-eight teams traveled to Crete for action in a variety of categories. Conestoga placed 12th with 68 points, Louisville finished 17th with 56 points and Elmwood-Murdock placed 25th with 20 points.

Jacob Drake, David Carlton, Kiera Mendoza, Jessica Williams, Alex Lamoureux and Charlie Erny all captured medals in various levels of competition for Conestoga. Gus Pope and Noah Arent earned medals for Elmwood-Murdock, and Peyton Banks and Sophie Habrock each produced honors for Louisville.
