Employers Needed for Job Fair

on March 1

The Plattsmouth Public Library is hosting its third annual Job Fair on Thursday, March 1, 3:00-6:00 pm. Employers who would like to participate are encouraged to call Karen Mier, Library Director, at 402-296-4154 x23. Each employer will be provided with table space and chairs.

Tax Forms

Multiple copies of Forms 1040 and 1040EZ are available from the Plattsmouth Public Library. Other forms and instruction books will be made available as soon as they’re received. Nebraska’s Department of Revenue stopped sending tax forms to libraries several years ago. Copies of both federal and state tax forms can also be printed at the library for 10 cents a page or 20 cents for double-sided copies.

Ends Feb. 17

There’s still time to enter the Plattsmouth Public Library’s Read to Reel program. Capitalize on your love of books and movies before Feb. 17 for chances to win movie tickets and restaurant gift certificates.

Prizes are given out weekly. The final grand prize is a pair of movie tickets and a free meal at a nearby restaurant. Enter as many times as you’d like, but only one prize per person.

Everything Cupcake, Feb. 17

The Everything Chocolate event has a new twist this year! Instead of chocolate, the Plattsmouth Public Library is celebrating cupcakes! Fun and good food will still be the main ingredients at the Everything Cupcake event in the auditorium 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17. The evening will be full of cupcakes, games, and door prizes.

Adults and teens can register for the cupcake competition. Enter your favorite cupcake creation. Judges will be Patti Jo Peterson from The Journal, City Councilman Steve Riese, and Angela Mueller from Herban Coffee Lab. The entries will be judged based on taste, presentation, and originality. After the judging, attendees will be able to sample the entries. Cash prizes will be $50, $30 and $20. Attendees will also be able to vote for The People’s Choice Award.

Cupcake treats may be brought to share without being entered in the competition. Call the library (402.296.4154 Ext. 24) to register as seating is limited!
