PLATTSMOUTH – A Grand Island woman admitted violating multiple terms of her Cass County probation during a court hearing Monday morning.
Claudette J. Vrbka, 51, appeared in Cass County District Court on the state’s motion to revoke her probation. She admitted to all of the allegations contained in the document.
Vrbka began serving 24 months of probation in July 2017 for a Class I misdemeanor charge of operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest. Cass County officials said she began violating probation within six months after her start date.
Authorities said Vrbka failed to report to a probation meeting Jan. 19 and failed to notify probation officials of her change of address. Authorities learned she had been asked to leave the Mental Health Respite Center through the Salvation Army. She stopped participating in required Salvation Army programs and was not residing in housing provided by any treatment or governmental agency.
Probation officials said Vrbka had not provided any proof that she was continuing her required counseling programs. They also said she had not provided verification that she had been taking prescribed medications since her release from a hospital in Douglas County.
Vrbka failed to appear for a violation of probation hearing in Cass County District Court March 5. Omaha police arrested her March 14 and transported her to Cass County Jail.
Vrbka remains lodged in Cass County Jail. The court set a sentencing date of May 29.
