All five Cass County girls basketball teams will start their postseason trails next week at sites throughout eastern Nebraska.
Conestoga, Elmwood-Murdock, Louisville, Plattsmouth and Weeping Water will begin subdistrict tournament action Monday and Tuesday. Nebraska School Activities Association officials released brackets for each of the tournaments yesterday.
Plattsmouth (3-17) will compete in the Subdistrict B-1 Tournament at Platteview on Monday. The fourth-seeded Blue Devils will face top-seeded Platteview (19-3) at 5:30 p.m. The winner will take on either Omaha Gross or Nebraska City at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Louisville (18-6) and Conestoga (16-5) will both play in the Subdistrict C1-2 Tournament at Weeping Water Activities Center on Tuesday. Top-seeded Louisville will face fourth-seeded Ashland-Greenwood (4-18) at 6 p.m. Second-seeded Conestoga will square off with third-seeded Syracuse (11-10) at 7:30 p.m. The winners will play in the title game at 7 p.m. Feb. 15.
Elmwood-Murdock will travel to Wahoo High School for the Subdistrict C2-2 Tournament. Second-seeded Elmwood-Murdock (13-8) will play third-seeded Yutan (13-9) at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will advance to the title game at 7 p.m. Feb. 15. Archbishop Bergan, Omaha Brownell-Talbot and Palmyra are also in the tournament.
Weeping Water (15-8) will be the top-seeded team in the Subdistrict D1-3 Tournament at Raymond Central. The Indians will play either fourth-seeded East Butler (8-13) or fifth-seeded Cedar Bluffs (9-13) at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The winner of the semifinal will play either Nebraska City Lourdes or Omaha Christian Academy in the title game at 6 p.m. Feb. 15.
