TECUMSEH – Elmwood-Murdock athletes picked up a pair of conference victories Friday night during a girl-boy doubleheader against Johnson County Central.

Elmwood-Murdock girls 45, Johnson County Central 7

Elmwood-Murdock played at a winning level at both ends of the court against JCC (1-10). E-M forced 28 turnovers and held the Thunderbirds to a 2-of-30 shooting performance from the field. The Knights (7-4) outrebounded Johnson County Central 32-23 and made assists on 15 of their 20 field goals.

Danielle Neels helped E-M with 17 points, eight rebounds, five steals, two assists and two blocks. Lauren Justesen collected 11 points, six rebounds and two assists, and Steph Wenzel contributed seven points, three assists, two rebounds and one block.

Kylee Synovec poured in two points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal. Sydney Anderson tallied three points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal, and Sydney Kunz generated two rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Katelyn Vogler posted three points and one rebound and Nicole Wenzel had two points, two boards and one assist. Paige Mortimer chipped in two rebounds and one assist and Morgan Mills made one assist.

Elmwood-Murdock boys 69, Johnson County Central 43

The Knights manufactured a methodical victory over JCC in the nightcap. Elmwood-Murdock (9-1) went ahead 7-0 and built the halftime gap to 33-23. The team continued its consistent offense in the second half. The Knights scored 20 points against JCC (3-7) in the third quarter and ended the game with a 16-10 run.

Elmwood-Murdock finished the evening 24-of-38 from the field and went 10-of-18 from 3-point range. The team also outrebounded the Thunderbirds 25-17.

Wes Dreamer generated a double-double stat line of 19 points, ten rebounds, six assists, two blocks and one steal. Zach Rust collected 18 points, five assists, four steals and three rebounds, and Massimo Lojing posted six points, three assists, two boards and one steal. Carter Bornemeier scored 11 points and Austin Meisinger poured in four points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Nolan Langfeldt ended the evening with four assists, two rebounds and two steals. Caleb Marlatt scored three points and Payton Frahm tallied two points, three assists and two boards. Cole Cooper collected two points and one assist, Noah Willey had two points and one block and Tyler Marlatt scored two points. Andy Meyer chipped in a pair of rebounds for E-M.
