WEEPING WATER – The Louisville boys delivered winning packages on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court against Weeping Water Thursday night.

The Lions captured a 47-20 road victory with a complete effort in all statistical categories. Louisville scored in double digits in all four quarters and maintained a tight defensive grip on the Indians for most of the evening. The team held Weeping Water to seven field goals in the game and limited WWHS to five points in the second half.

Louisville (12-10) and Weeping Water (3-16) remained close to each other throughout the first eight minutes. Weeping Water erased an early 4-2 deficit with seven unanswered points midway through the period. Jayden Brammier drained a pair of layups and Noah May had one free throw and one basket in the stretch.

The Lions answered with a 7-0 run in the final 1:22 of the quarter and took a 17-15 lead on Brady Geise’s short jumper 4:09 before the break. LHS then broke away from the Indians with a flurry of points in the last two minutes of the half. Hunter Klein produced a layup and Alec Terry scored four points in a 33-second span. Jaren Powell then hauled in a missed 3-point attempt and put the offensive rebound through the hoop at the buzzer.

Louisville expanded its 25-15 halftime lead the rest of the way. The team scored on four straight trips in the third quarter and pocketed a pair of interior baskets by Chase Cosgrove early in the fourth quarter. LHS held Weeping Water to four points in the third period and one point in the final stanza.

Cosgrove led Louisville with 13 points, two rebounds and one block. Terry collected nine points and four rebounds and Geise pocketed eight points, four steals and five rebounds. Klein chipped in five points, three steals and one rebound.

Powell poured in four points and three rebounds and Doug Euans took one charge and posted three points and three steals. Jared Hrabik took one charge and collected three rebounds and one steal, Jaden Maxey tallied two points and two boards and Talon Ball scored three points. Quinn Wolcott added one rebound and one steal for the Lions.

Brammier took two charges and posted eight points and six rebounds for Weeping Water. May collected seven points, two steals and two boards and Ryan Smith secured two points and one rebound. Marshall Garner tallied two points and one assist and Avery Heath made one assist and one rebound.

Zack Smith scored one point and had two rebounds and one steal. Dawson Garner secured two rebounds and Levi Neumeister made one steal for Weeping Water.
