PLATTSMOUTH – Waverly used three quarters of lockdown defense to stop the Plattsmouth girls on the PHS court Friday night.

The Vikings collected a 52-38 victory over Plattsmouth on Senior Night. Waverly made 19 steals in the game and scored 29 points off turnovers. The team held the Blue Devils to 13 points in the first half and three points in the third quarter.

Plattsmouth found its scoring groove in the final eight minutes. PHS went on a 22-9 run in the fourth quarter and posted points on nine trips. Kayla Harvey, Katie Oatman, Bella Chappell and Chloe Sabatka all sank baskets for the Blue Devils in the period.

Sabatka took one charge and collected 18 points and five rebounds for Plattsmouth. Chappell generated 11 points, two rebounds and one steal and Oatman posted three points and five rebounds. Taylor Caba chipped in one point, four rebounds and three steals.

Harvey drew one charge and scored two points, Adyson Blecke made four steals and Rachel Widick posted one point, one steal and two rebounds. Kira Leget collected two points and two steals and Sierra Witherell and Lexi Schroeder each hauled in one rebound.
