BEAVER LAKE – An estimated 200 people recently came to see the new full-service Cornerstone Bank in Beaver Lake.
They apparently liked what they saw.
“I think everybody was impressed with the facility,” said Russ Henning, vice president and the bank’s manager for Murray and Beaver Lake.
Though the bank has been opened for a few weeks now, ribbon-cutting ceremonies were held this past Thursday to officially usher in Cornerstone’s new branch built to make banking more convenient for many of its customers.
“We think that it has great potential,” said Kelly Holthus, the bank’s board chairman.
The bank’s newly constructed facility at 211 Rock Bluff Road near Beaver Lake features 6,500 square feet of space that includes three teller windows, an impressive conference room, numerous offices and plenty of windows for that bright, cheery feeling. There are also two drive-through teller lanes and a drive-up ATM.
Besides creating more convenience for its customers, Cornerstone also helped the local economy with the hiring of numerous employees to service its Beaver Lake branch.
One of them is teller Monica Ramirez.
“I love it,” she said. “The family here has great values. They really care about their customers. We learn about them and they become more than just customers, they become our friends and our family.”
The bank will have expanded hours at the Beaver Lake branch. The drive–thru hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 8 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays, while the lobby will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends and 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays. The Murray branch, which will remain open, will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and closed Saturdays.
To celebrate its grand opening, the bank is offering 11-month CDs with a rate of 3.05 percent. There’s a $500 minimum deposit.
