snow storm

Tuesday's snow storm started around 1 p.m. and was still going at 1 a.m. on Wednesday before finally moving out. Between 6 and 7 inches fell in Cass County, more than many other places in the general area.

PLATTSMOUTH – Cass County seemed to take the brunt of Tuesday’s snow storm, compared to other locations in this general area, according to figures compiled by the National Weather Service in Valley, Neb.

Approximately 7 inches of snow was reported at Murray and 6 inches in Plattsmouth.

This compares to 5 inches reported at both Offutt Air Force Base and Pacific Junction, Iowa. Omaha’s Eppley Airfield recorded 5.4 inches.

In Bellevue proper, 4 inches fell, while 3.2 was the figure recorded at Boys Town. Council Bluffs, Iowa received 3.2 inches, according to the weather service.

Further to the south in Nemaha County, 6 inches fell in Auburn, while just 4 inches fell southeast of Lincoln, the weather service figures showed.

Shenandoah in Page County, Iowa, received 7 inches, according to weather service.

Overall, temperatures will be on the cold side the next few days with chances for light snow or flurries during the day and evening on Friday.
