Conestoga speech second at Waverly meet

Conestoga speech students enjoyed a busy weekend on the stage with award-winning efforts in two area meets.

First Friday Forensics Fest

Conestoga traveled to Malcolm on Friday for a meet filled with schools from across the region. CHS placed sixth in team standings.

Jacob Drake earned medals in three individual events and Cassidy Hartig captured an individual medal for Conestoga. Alex Lamoureux and Jessica Williams gave the squad points with a Duet Acting medal.

Extemporaneous Speaking – Jacob Drake (3rd)

Informative Speaking – Jacob Drake (5th)

Waverly Forensics Classic

CHS brought home a major piece of hardware from Saturday’s Waverly Forensics Classic. Conestoga captured second place in team standings at the meet.

Drake and Williams each earned individual championships for the squad. Drake won titles in both Informative Speaking and Extemporaneous Speaking, and Williams secured first place in the Persuasive Speaking contest.

Lindee Watson (Persuasive Speaking) and Lily Drannen (Oral Interpretation of Poetry) both added championships for Conestoga in novice divisions. Kelsi Weilage (Persuasive Speaking) and Victoria O’Tool (Novice Dramatic Interpretation) both scored points for the team with medal-winning efforts.
