PLATTSMOUTH – A local car dealership is asking the public to help them make this winter warmer for as many people as possible.

And, some lucky person will receive a free 55-inch television in the process.

Officials of Gregg Young of Plattsmouth on Friday announced their Truckload of Warmth campaign in which people can come to their dealership on 302 Fulton Ave., just off Highway 75, with clean coats, hats and mittens in good condition and put them in the back of a brand new Chevy Silverado for later distribution to those who will need them.

“We want to do what we can to give back to the community,” said Alex Young, managing partner.

“All of this will stay in the community,” added Paul Lambert, business development manager.

As of Friday afternoon, there were already numerous items in the back of the truck and more room might be needed.

“We’re hoping to put in a second truck,” said Andrew Therrian, managing partner.

“That’s our goal,” Lambert said.

Every time people donate to the cause they can enter into a drawing for a chance to win that large screen television.

The campaign ends on Jan. 31, 2019.

Lambert, who is also Plattsmouth’s mayor, expressed confidence it will be a successful campaign.

“This community has been good in giving,” he said.
