MURRAY – A pancake fundraiser will be held on Sunday to help pay for this year’s Fourth of July activities in Murray.
The fundraiser will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Conestoga Elementary School cafeteria in Murray.
The menu includes pancakes made by the Pancake Man from Weeping Water, along with sausage, biscuits and gravy, and refreshments.
All proceeds will go to the Murray Freedom Festival organization that oversees the annual Fourth of July activities that last all day, according to George Blessing, Jr., festival board chairman.
“It’s a long running event,” he said.
This year’s schedule isn’t yet finalized, he said, but should again feature a parade, a 5K walk/run and volleyball. Fireworks will again be shot off around 10 p.m., said Blessing, Jr.
Sunday’s fundraiser is an annual event held around this time, he added.
“It’s been a good fundraiser,” he said.
The Freedom Festival is a 501c3 organization.
His board is also looking for volunteers to help with the planning of the Fourth of July activities, he said.
