PLATTSMOUTH – Tucker Anderson turned Senior Night into a memorable evening with one flick of his wrist against Arlington.
Anderson canned the game-winning basket with 2.5 seconds left in Plattsmouth’s 52-50 victory. The Blue Devils and Eagles had been tied at 50-50 when the senior guard drained a 15-foot jumper. Arlington’s half-court shot at the buzzer missed the mark.
Both teams began Tuesday night’s game with on-target offenses. The game was tied 17-17 after one quarter.
Brandt Colbert sank a pair of baskets just before halftime to keep PHS within 26-24 at the break. The team kept the deficit at 36-34 after three periods and fell behind 47-42 with just over three minutes to play.
Anderson collected a 3-pointer with 90 seconds left and Hunter Adkins posted a basket to tie the game at 47-47. Arlington made a free throw to retake the lead, but Stockton Graham answered with a trey for Plattsmouth to make it 50-48. Arlington countered with a basket to deadlock it at 50-50.
That set the stage for Anderson to make his decisive perimeter jumper. He ended the game with 15 points, five rebounds, three steals and three assists.
Adkins collected five points and seven rebounds and Colbert finished with nine points and two boards. Nolan Cherek added nine points, three rebounds and one block.
Hayden Stromsodt chipped in nine points, two blocks, two steals, three assists and one rebound. Graham generated five points, four assists, two boards and one steal, and Chandler Cole secured four rebounds and made one assist.
Plattsmouth will resume its season Friday with a 7:30 p.m. game at Waverly. The team’s final game of the regular season will take place Feb. 15 at Omaha Gross. The Blue Devils and Cougars will tip off at 7:15 p.m.
