Elmwood-Murdock basketball

LINCOLN – The Elmwood-Murdock girls nearly pocketed a road victory this week during their trip to Lincoln Lutheran.

LLHS edged the Knights 41-38 Tuesday evening. Lincoln Lutheran (5-8) trailed 16-14 at the break but staged a comeback in the third quarter. The team used a 12-7 run to take the lead into the final stretch. LLHS sank enough shots in the last few minutes to win.

Lauren Justesen led the Knights (4-9) with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Sydney Anderson generated seven points and three rebounds and Sydney Kunz produced six points and one rebound. Brenna Schmidt chipped in three points, three rebounds and one assist.

Katelyn Vogler and Nicole Wenzel each scored three points for E-M. Paetyn Florell and Jayden Halferty both chipped in one rebound for the team.
