PLATTEVIEW – Louisville saw its volleyball campaign come to a close Monday night in a postseason match with Ashland-Greenwood.
The third-seeded Bluejays stopped second-seeded Louisville 25-12, 28-26, 25-22 in the Subdistrict C1-3 Tournament at Platteview High School. Ashland-Greenwood (10-17) won its fourth match in a row and evened the season series with the Lions. LHS had swept Ashland-Greenwood in a home contest Sept. 13.
Avery Heard helped Louisville’s offense with ten kills on 26 swings. Heard also went 11-of-12 serving and made 12 digs and two assists.
Cassidy Niemoth went 22-of-22 on her attack chances and compiled eight kills. She also finished 7-of-7 serving and made four digs.
Olivia Zahn finished with 24 assists and five digs and went 9-of-10 serving, and Faye Jacobsen generated seven kills, ten digs and one assist. Jacobsen also posted one ace during her 12-of-13 serving performance.
Skyler Pollock went 11-of-12 serving with two aces and added one kill, ten digs and one assist. Jade Biesterfeld collected three kills and Maddy Nolte produced one kill, one ace block and three digs. McKenzie Norris chipped in four digs and went 7-of-8 serving for the Lions.
Louisville finished its season 16-15. Heard and Zahn were the team’s two seniors.
