LOUISVILLE – The Louisville boys relied on a diverse scoring attack to defeat Omaha Brownell-Talbot on their home court Thursday night.
Eight players registered their names in the scoring column during a 42-37 victory. The Lions (3-9) produced 22 first-half points and added 20 to their total after the break.
Omaha Brownell-Talbot (5-7) tried to rally from a 22-19 halftime deficit, but LHS produced important insurance points in the third quarter. The team went on a 12-5 run in the period to go up 34-24. That allowed the squad to withstand a late comeback attempt by the Raiders.
Caleb Hrabik paced Louisville’s offense with eight points. Jaren Powell generated seven points, eight rebounds, three steals and one assist, and Conner Buettner collected six points, one rebound, one assist and two steals. Jaden Maxey chipped in three points, four rebounds, one steal and one pass deflection.
Doug Euans secured three points, one rebound, one steal and three pass deflections. Brady Geise tallied three points, four boards, three assists, two steals and one pass deflection for the Lions.
Eric Heard poured in five points, two rebounds and one pass deflection in the victory. Quinn Wolcott scored four points and Talon Ball made two steals and one assist.
Louisville is scheduled to travel to DC West Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. game. The Lions will return home Jan. 17 for a 7:30 p.m. matchup with Yutan.
