LOUISVILLE – The Louisville boys collected momentum this week with a pair of victories over Raymond Central and Weeping Water.

The team will play its final home game of the regular season Saturday against Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson. The squads will tip off at 5 p.m. The schools had originally been scheduled to meet in the MAC Shootout in Council Bluffs earlier this winter, but weather caused the game to be postponed on that date.

Louisville 59, Raymond Central 42

The Lions produced their top point total of the season Tuesday night against the Mustangs. Louisville overcame an early deficit with 17 points in each of the middle two quarters. LHS clinched the contest with 16 points in the final period.

Brady Geise helped the team with four 3-pointers during the evening. He sank a pair of treys in the second quarter and added two more in the third quarter. He finished the game with 17 points, two steals, four pass deflections and one rebound. He also drew one charge against the Mustangs.

Quinn Wolcott posted three baskets in the first period and added six free throws and one field goal later in the game. He ended the night with 14 points, five boards, four steals and one pass deflection.

Conner Buettner contributed seven points, four rebounds, three steals, two assists and four pass deflections. Jaden Maxey secured six points, two assists, two steals and three pass deflections, and Eric Heard had seven points, four steals, two rebounds and one assist. Jaren Powell chipped in three points, six rebounds and two assists.

Talon Ball had three assists, one steal and one rebound, and Caleb Hrabik posted one assist, one steal and one block. Doug Euans made one steal and two pass deflections and Harrison Klein dished out one assist. Tyler Mackling, Brayden Powell, Sam Ahl and Coby Buettner all provided defensive work.

Louisville 55, Weeping Water 19

Louisville improved to 6-14 with a victory over Weeping Water Thursday night. The Lions held the Indians to single digits in all four quarters. The team created distance on the scoreboard with an 18-4 run in the second stanza.

Mackling finished with ten points and Hrabik and Heard each had eight points. Jaren Powell and Geise each scored six points and Maxey and Wolcott both produced five points. Euans collected three points and Ball and Ahl added two points apiece.

Jordan Beardsley led Weeping Water with eight points. Lucas Patton posted six points, Noah Patton had three points and Zack Smith tallied two points.
