BLAIR – Blair and Plattsmouth both wanted to race out of the scoring blocks in the opening minutes of their game Friday night.
The Bears were able to accomplish their goal against the PHS boys.
Blair used a 16-2 run in the first quarter to win an Eastern Midlands Conference matchup 56-39. The Bears maintained their recent consistency on offense in the contest. The squad had scored 53 points in each of its previous three games against Bennington, Omaha Roncalli and Omaha Skutt.
BHS (8-5) preserved its early lead against Plattsmouth in the final three quarters. The team went ahead 26-11 at halftime and led 44-22 with eight minutes to play.
Tucker Anderson collected ten points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal for Plattsmouth (5-8). Hayden Stromsodt had six points, seven rebounds, two blocks and one assist, and Hunter Adkins posted seven points, three blocks, two rebounds and two steals.
Chandler Cole scored five points and made one assist for the Blue Devils. Stockton Graham pitched in two points, three assists, two steals and one rebound, and Brandt Colbert had three points and one assist.
Andrew Rathman secured four points, seven rebounds and one steal and Ryan Oatman made one assist. Kade Hansen scored two points and had one rebound and Dakota Minshall saw court time.
Plattsmouth will travel to Syracuse Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. game with the Rockets. PHS will return home Jan. 17 for a 7:30 p.m. game against Gretna.
