Veterans Day program, 11-11:30 a.m., Fremont High School. Former Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman will be the guest speaker. Everyone is welcome. If planning to attend, call the high school office so that appropriate seating accommodations will be ready for everyone.

Veterans Day program, 2 p.m., The Heritage at Shalimar Gardens, 749 E. 29th St., Fremont. A special Quilt of Valor presentation will follow for the seven veterans at Shalimar Gardens.

Kitchen open, 5:30-7 p.m., Fremont Eagles Club. The regular menu will be available. Everyone is welcome.

“Cluster Busters” open house, 7-10 p.m., Behlen Observatory, near Mead. If weather permits, attendees will be able to view the Hercules star cluster, Wild Duck cluster, double cluster in Perseus, and Seven Sisters. Attendees can view objects through the historic 30-foot Behlen telescope – the largest in Nebraska – and other telescopes provided by local astronomers. The event is free and open to the public.

Autumn Harvest Art Show, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Eugene T. Mahoney State Park, near Ashland. Local and national artists will be offering their work for display and sale. A park entry permit is required.

Fall Craft Show, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Fremont Eagles Club main floor, 649 N. Main St. The show will feature 21 vendors. Admission is free. Lunch will be available for purchase. The menu includes: homemade chicken salad sandwiches, fruit and chicken salad plate, and barbeque pork sandwiches.

Fremont Marketplace Annual Fall Craft and Vendor Show, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fremont Mall. Admission is free.

Free admission for veterans, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., The Durham Museum, Omaha. Veterans and their families can enjoy complimentary admission in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Historic Home Tour and Boutique, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Joslyn Castle, Omaha. Visitors can tour several decorated historic homes with complimentary shuttle service, and shop the holiday boutique. Tickets are $20.

Holiday Expo: All About Her, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Baxter Arena, Omaha. The women’s expo will feature all of the latest in fashion, pampering, relaxation, fitness, food and more. Admission is $1.

Handoff for Veterans: Warrior to Warrior, 1 p.m., Heedum Field, Fremont. The Midland University football team will be taking on Dordt. Admission will be free to all veterans and they will be honored during the game.

St. Matthew Lutheran Church’s Annual Turkey Supper, 5-7:30 p.m., Cedar Bluffs Auditorium. Turkey, all the trimmings, pies and desserts will be served. Carryout dinners will be available from 4-7 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 300 S. Second St., Cedar Bluffs. Tickets are $11 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-10 and free for children under 5. The event also will include a silent auction.

Live music by Bruce Katz, 9 p.m. to midnight, The Corner Bar, 300 N. Main St., Fremont. Katz, renowned Hammond B-3 organist/keyboardist and four-time Blues Music Award nominee, and his Bruce Katz Band, are embarking on their “Get Your Groove!” Midwest Tour. Tickets are $10.

Music by The Happy Players, 1-4 p.m., Fremont Eagles Club Ballroom. The cost is $5 per person. Everyone is welcome.

Concert of Patriotic Music by the Broad Street Revue, 2 p.m., First United Methodist Church, Eighth and Broad streets, Fremont. Guest artists will be the Palladium Brass. Admission to the concert is free. A freewill offering will be accepted with proceeds directed to the Veterans Park in Fremont.

Music by the Greg Spevak Orchestra, 3-5:30 p.m., Izaak Walton club house, Fremont. There will be a cover and cash bar. Everyone is welcome.

Salute to Service, 6 p.m., Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum, near Ashland. Orchestral classics and patriotic favorites will be performed by the Omaha Area Youth Orchestra and alumni in celebration of Veterans Day and their 60-year anniversary. Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for students, and free for children 6 and under and music teachers. Tickets may be purchased online at www.eventbrite.com.

World War I display dedication, 7:45 a.m., Memorial Stadium, Lincoln. The event marks the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, which marked the cessation of hostilities in World War I. Attendees are asked to park in the lot directly east of Memorial Stadium and enter the stadium through Gate 19.

Following the meal, everyone is invited to a program at 1:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary honoring our veterans. Students will be singing during the program.

2018 Community Tree Lighting, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Keene Memorial Library, Fremont. The tree lighting will be at 6 p.m. The event also will include: Santa and Mrs. Claus, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, Christmas poetry, children’s storytime, crafts, snacks, coffee and hot chocolate.

Hamburger night, 5:30-7 p.m., Fremont Eagles Club. Everyone is welcome.
